Hey everyone!

Some of my friends run Cucci LA, an independent, sex-positive sex toy shop that leads safer sex workshops for members of the Greater Los Angeles community. If you’re ever in Los Angeles, I hope that you get to attend one of these awesome workshops! (And if not, please consider checking out their website if you’re in the market for a sex toy.)

At the moment, they’re raising money in order to expand their community outreach programs so they can do more workshops. If you’re an Angeleno and you’d like them to come to your community, drop them a line or consider making a donation.

Thanks!

ABOUT HOUSE OF CUCCI

EZAK
“House of Cucci is a safe, creative, beautiful and much needed community space that allowed me to be vulnerable, reflective and critical about how I engage around issues related to sexual health.  During this training I engaged in many conversations that connected my REAL life sexual experiences while incorporating and being mindful of all the ways in which I identify (trans, genderqueer, Latino/Native American, queer, working class, child of a single mother on welfare…).

My experiences were validated and critiqued in a way that felt like the most healthy, safe and loving space I’ve ever been in.  I felt I was able to grow and continue learning how to communicate my overall health needs, whether it’s advocating for myself at a clinic, creating/learning new ways to negotiate my needs in regards to intimate relationships as well as having access to these tools. Conversations that challenged me to think about power, privilege and oppression and how sexual health justice is very much a part of the overall social justice movement.”

The Impact

“Our diverse communities have a long history of health practices that have been ignored, disregarded and or forgotten about due colonialism, imperialism, white supremacy and heteropatriarchy.

We make sure that our parties and workshops are free for our communities simply because this work is necessary.  We need to free ourselves and our communities from mainstream sex education and we need YOUR help to make House of Cucci continue to be FREE for the communities who need it most.” -Ezak, Cucci Sex Educator
“HoC should continue to happen because it is truly a healing and empowering experience. Many of us have had very little sex education that was positive and attuned to our individual and unique needs/experiences and that was outside of the hetero-normative framework. Many of us aren’t fully aware of how our past sexual experiences affect us in our everyday interactions.  I believe whole-heartedly that this awareness and understanding allow us to be better engaged in any and all relationships. Positive and relevant sexual education contribute to our overall health and well-being and everyone should have access to this.”
-Brenda, Cucci Sex Educator
