I was talking to my boyfriend last night about how I shave my crotch because I want to- I like how I look and feel better without pubic hair. I assumed he preferred women without pubic hair (as past boyfriends have told me) but he told me he wouldn’t care either way. He told me that other girls he’s talked to shave for the men in their lives. Do you shave? if so, why or why not?

I think it’s true that many women* shave because of societal pressure or pressure from their partners. However, many people prefer being unshaven or being with someone unshaven! Ultimately, it’s your body and your choice. If you and your partner decide to save for each other, that’s cool too, just make sure it’s consensual! Communication is the most important thing in regards to sex and/or relationships, so talking about your preferences is a good way to start.

Personally, it varies for me. Sometimes I enjoy shaving, and other times I like to be razor-free for a couple months.

onside-b said: I think men who are overly concerned with your vagina being completely shaven are being a bit silly. My partner doesn’t care either way and I love that. I choose to wax because it makes me feel fresher but I wouldn’t want to be forced to.

temerei said: I never shave, not anywhere on my body. When my current boyfriend and I started going out on a couple dates, and he first saw me naked, he wasn’t uncomfortable with it. We talked more about it and we’re both comfortable with each other’s body hair.
