About the shaving: this goes for both my legs and pubic area- sometimes i like to be completely shaven, sometimes i leave a little hair, and sometimes i go without for a long time. I know people who don't ever shave their armpits, but regularly shave their legs or pubic area; it really varies for each person! i just think it's important to make sure what you are doing is for you, and that you personally are comfortable with it.
